  • The ChangeABLE Back Story

This dynamic team has created a new learning tool that helps others navigate the never-ending cycle of 21st century change. You can bring their expertise to your office with this professional “Workshop In A Box”.

The early beginnings of this duo started when Barbara and Patricia met in 1989, at a point in time when the healthcare industry was facing monumental change. Pat was facilitating a three-day seminar on Managing Organizational Change and Barbara was one of hundreds of students in her classes. A visual thinker, Barbara imagined that Pat’s presentation could be converted into a format that would benefit many audiences. Hence the idea of a board game was proposed.

At long last, through hours of discussions, ideas, sketches, and rewrites, ChangeABLE is now available. It is an interactive and educational board game designed to be applicable to every industry and size of organization from Fortune 100 companies to government agencies to educational institutions to places of worship.

The concepts which serve as the foundation for this game are credited to Mr. Daryl Conner’s Managing Organization Change curriculum and are used with his authorization.

Here is what Daryl says about the game:

“The content of ChangeABLE is based on over 45 years of the research, writings and consulting I’ve done in the area of managing organizational change. Through the format they developed, Pat and Barb have found a way to build change capacity in an accessible, collaborative, and engaging way. The game allows players to share their strategies and, tactics, knowledge and experience with others on their team, while using foundational concepts and principles of change management. I recommend businesses use it as a fresh and innovative way to guide their change process.”
